Q: What Fuels do you deliver?
A: We deliver Bioheating Oil, Kerosene, Propane Gas, Clear Biodiesel Fuel, Dyed Biodiesel Fuel and 87, 89 and 93 Octane Gasoline.

Q: How often should my furnace be cleaned?
A: It is HIGHLY recommended that Oil and Kerosene furnaces be cleaned and serviced annually.

Q: Is propane gas clean and efficient?
A: Yes, Propane is both clean and efficient. Propane has long been recognized as the “green” energy. By using this energy, homeowners can help cut emissions and protect the environment.
  •  Propane, on average, costs about half as much per BTU as electricity.
  •  Propane burns hotter and more evenly than many other fuels.
  •  Propane appliances have a shorter energy savings payback period.

Q: Is oil heat safe?
A: Unlike gaseous fuels, Bioheating oil will not support combustion (flame) unless the temperature is about 140 degrees Fahrenheit. There is not enough fuel vapor to cause an explosion or fire.

Q: What is your primary marketplace?
A: Stem Brothers was founded in Milford, New Jersey more than sixty years ago but has grown to serve all of Hunterdon County, including the county seat, Flemington New Jersey. In addition to Flemington and Raritan Township we reach all other Hunterdon County communities as well as parts of Warren County, including Alpha and Phillipsburg. We also deliver and service customers in parts of Bucks County Pennsylvania.

Q: What is your fastest growing area?
A: Without doubt our quickest and greatest growth has been in the Flemington and Raritan Township area. We enjoy continued growth throughout our region but have found Flemington to be especially receptive to our quality service and superior products.

Q: What products does Stem Brothers handle?
A: Until recently the quick and simple answer would have been heating oil, propane, diesel, kerosene and gasoline. Recently we became the first and only distributor in our marketplace to include bio heating oil and bio diesel to our product list. In fact, we have completely replaced heating oil and diesel with bio heating oil and bio diesel.

Q: Are there customer benefits to using bio heating oil or bio diesel?
A: Yes, there are many benefits. Some would argue that the greatest benefit from using bio heating oil and bio diesel is the reduced carbon impact upon our environment. We think that’s very important too, but we also know there are tangible benefits to our customers. Cleaner burning fuel, such as bio heating oil equates to improved efficiency, as well as a continuously maintained clean fuel system operation. Fuel pumps, whether for heating oil or diesel benefit from the added lubricity of bio heating oil and bio diesel, not to mention it is a renewable product that reduces our dependency on foreign oil.

Q: Where can I purchase bio heating oil?
A: Only at Stem Brothers, Inc., if you are within our service area.

Q: How can I purchase bio diesel?
A: If you have storage and pumping facility at your business, home or farm, we deliver. It is also available at our Citgo stations in Milford and Frenchtown. Bio diesel is also available at the Shammy Shine Car Wash Citgo station in Flemington, New Jersey.

Q: How much more will bio heating fuel or bio diesel cost me?
A: While it is a superior product the answer is Stem Brothers does not charge additional for bio heating oil nor bio diesel. Retail pricing is primarily a function of competition and Stem Brothers is favorably positioned when it comes to retail pricing for all of our products. That would include bio heating fuel, bio diesel, kerosene, propane or gasoline.

Q: What about installation and service?
A: Stem Brothers handles new installations, maintenance and repair with an in-house staff. If you are a Stem Brothers customer with a service matter, we are on-call 24 hours a day, seven days a week. Our pledge to our customers is prompt response by qualified service personnel 24/7.

Q: If I live in Flemington or Clinton do I pay more for my bio heating oil than the customer that lives in Milford?
A: No, our price for bio heating oil and other products is consistent throughout our marketplace. We offer the same quality products, and 24/7 friendly service whether you live in Milford, Clinton, Frenchtown, Flemington, Alpha, Phillipsburg or any of the other dozens of communities we serve.

Q: Am I able to order bio heating oil online?

Q: In addition to the introduction of bio heating oil and bio diesel into the market place have you launched other new initiatives recently?
A: We introduced a new CAP Price Protection program last season and will repeat it in the 2010 – 2011 heating season. The CAP program provides our customer the opportunity to purchase price protection to “CAP” the price of heating oil or propane for the coming heating season. It’s like buying peace of mind knowing that the amount you’ve budgeted for energy is not going to exceed that price.

Q: Are there other customer purchasing programs?
A: We also have an EZ Pay budget plan and a CAP budget plan; customers pay a monthly price based on previous usage. In this manner the customer pays a little each month instead of facing a larger invoice upon delivery of their bio heating oil or propane.
